Villa La Gratitud Featured in Hola Magazine: A Timeless Luxury Retreat

We are delighted to announce that Villa La Gratitud has been featured in Hola magazine, offering an inside look into this luxurious property that blends timeless design, exceptional functionality, and breathtaking surroundings. Designed by the renowned Luisa Olazábal and her studio, LO2, Villa La Gratitud showcases her expertise in creating spaces that embody elegance, comfort, and a perfect connection with nature.

Situated in the prestigious Las Lomas area of Marbella's Golden Mile, Villa La Gratitud was originally a gift, and the former owners aptly named it “La Gratitude” as a symbol of appreciation. Luisa Olazábal shares, “It was a gift, and that is why the former owners baptized it as La Gratitude. A nice name that we decided to keep.”

The villa, which underwent a transformation that took almost three years to complete, spans an impressive 2,200 square meters, including two homes: the main house and a guest house. The main house, with its expansive three floors, houses luxurious amenities, including two pools, a spa, a cinema room, a bowling alley, a gym, a poker room, and even a pétanque court! Olazábal humorously remarks in Hola, “It has nothing to envy to the best holiday hotel. Impossible to get bored! I think only one golf simulator is missing…”

Throughout the renovation process, Luisa’s vision was clear: “We had to respect the base, but manage to improve the whole, so that it was a house to enjoy with family and friends,” she explains. The design not only focuses on the architecture but also on integrating landscaping to create an immersive environment that feels timeless and functional. “It was proposed as a comprehensive project where architecture, interior design, and landscaping intervened,” Olazábal adds.

Elegance is the meeting point between Luisa herself and her interior design projects. The living room reflects his fondness for ecru colours and quality finishes.

In particular, the challenge was to balance the enormity of the space with cozy and welcoming areas, ensuring a seamless flow throughout the villa. The spaces are not just large but designed to feel intimate and personal. “The main challenge was to create welcoming, varied environments, but perfectly complemented,” she says. The result is a property that feels both expansive and welcoming, where the interiors embrace the natural light and views of the surrounding landscape, while maintaining the original essence of Marbella's architecture.

One of Luisa’s favorite spots in the villa is the kitchen and its adjoining porch, where she loves to spend hours reading, working, or simply enjoying the view. “I would choose the magnificent kitchen and the porch, in which I could spend hours reading, working, listening to music…”
